Scurvy (Sailor's Disease):

 

• Scurvy is a result of vitamin C deficiency

• An individual needs about 30 mg of Vitamin C everyday

 

Symptoms to look for:

 

• Diarrhoea

• Loss of appetite

• Weight loss

• Fever

• Irritability

• Discomfort in legs

• Tender skin

• Softening, bleeding and swelling of gums

 

Causes:

 

• Vitamin C deficiency

 

Natural home remedy using Indian gooseberry and sugar: 

 

1. Indian gooseberry has high vitamin c content

2. Take 1 glass lukewarm milk

3. Add 1 tsp sugar

4. Crush some dry Indian gooseberries

5. Add 1 tsp of this powder to milk

6. Mix well

7. Drink this 3 times a day

 

Natural home remedy using honey and lemon juice:

 

1. Take 1 glass water

2. Add 1 tsp honey

3. Add 4 tbsp lemon juice

4. Mix well

5. Drink 2 times a day

• Eat fruits rich in vitamin C like: 

   o Guava

   o Kiwi

   o Papaya

   o Orange

   o Strawberry
